On this month’s Radio Poets, we’re paring it back. Three poets, three blissfully uninterrupted sets of pure word music. All the joys of a poetry night, without the background noise.
Why? It struck us in the last session how reading poetry to a small collective, in a concentrated audio space took the intensity of listening to a new level. Despite the hubbub of debate (inequality in publishing) the extended poetry recording was surprisingly powerful, and provocative. And we wanted to transfer this experience to our listeners at home.
So here it is. ‘Stripped Back Radio sessions’ with:
SIBYL RUTH, BERT FlITCROFT, and ROZ GODDARD
Sunday 29th May 2016 @BrumRadio – more at http://www.brumradio.com/
In future broadcasts we’ll be looking at blind poetics: writing poetry without the luxury of sight. The 2011 Birmingham riots. Hiroshima with Antony Owen and a celebration of one of Britain’s most loved on-line literary magazines Ink, Sweat and Tears.
